Thanks for the help. The plan was to either use the Alumiconn connectors or run a new circuit to the garage. The back of it backs on to the basement where the breaker panel is. If it isn't too much I think we might just run a new circuit to the panel. Also, can aluminum wiring be hooked up to normal breakers or do they need to be AFCI?

Either or. As local code dictates. Although, if I owned a house with aluminum wiring, I would probably consider having AFCI where possible.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll see about getting the bedrooms switched to AFCI breakers. I know in new homes here they require AFCI breakers for bedrooms circuits.
