Many devices have a place to enter multiple DNS IPs. That is the case with all of my individual computers; all of my routers; my ATAs; heck, even my iPod, I think.
I usually enter both the ISP DNS and an alternative, failover Google or OpenDNS address. You can chose which you wish to be the primary, and which you wish to be the secondary, and flip the order if you see any problems.
