2-line mlppp jitter versus non-mlppp?

I'm doing a little hair splitting this evening... I'm noticing jitter is at about 2-3ms on 2-line mlppp while less than 1ms on regular pppoe (1 line)

Is this normal?

After speaking with a senior agent here, it would be because MLPPP has a router that has to balance the loads of two lines for a successful connection. It will always slightly increase the jitter.
