I opened this thread to recommend that you try hMailServer, only to see that you had already done so. It works so well for me, that I have relegated my old sendmail/qpopper Linux email server to backup status, and use the hMailServer as my primary email server.<br><br>EDIT: Nevermind, I just noticed that you have a second thread in this forum, and that your issue is that you wanted to use an external MySQL dateabase with hMailServer. The mail server is on a DMZ subnet with only one machine on that subnet which is the mail server it self. I'm using the outlook client at my work for this email. The purpose of this email is so that I can give out email accounts to anyone out on the net. Those admins on my clan will have their email account with our domain name. <description><![CDATA[tomdlgns posted : what port are you using in outlook to send out?<br><br>before you start testing from outside the network, test from inside the network.  can you send out using outlook from a PC on the same network the email server is on?<br><br>testing from outside the network will require additional configuration (usually a VPN connection into the network hosting the email server) and more ports open in the firewall.  my company only allows sending email outside the network when we are connected back to the network with a VPN client.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[yurimaster posted : Hello everyone, I'm new to email servers but I got it going half way. I hope someone here is familiar with Xeams email server. I can't afford a paid email server since this is going to be for my none profit gaming clan.<br><br>I'm going to be brief here.<br><br>Got a domain registered through godaddy.com and an A records pointed to my web server external IP (the same web server is also the Xeams email server) which my website works great.<br>I have created the mx records on godaddy that corresponds to the external IP of my mail/web server. SMTP and IMAP ports have been forwarded. Only planning to use IMAP not POP.<br>I have one mail box user setup. <br>Open outlook client to setup up new email account as IMAP, put all the settings and it checks out. Email account is setup good on outlook and able to receive message from any emails on the net, such as gmail, yahoo and so on. But when I try to replies back it goes out but never arrives to the sender. I also try composing an email and it's sent out but the receiver never gets the email. I checked the logs on the server and see the in and out messages on the server. I'm not sure what needs to be done so I can start sending email out to the world.]]></description>
