Road Runner 8 downstream channel bonding in my area?
I currently have a Motorola SB6120 Surfboard and think its working pretty well as far as I can tell using Time Warne Road Runner Turbo plan. Im getting 20 down/2 upload with a 10 ping on speedtest.
But someone just gave me a newer one the Motorola SurfBoard SB6141 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem (»www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007IM···_s00_i00).
Any reason to change them out - is it that different from modem to modem? Yes, I could just try it but last time I made such a change things got squirrley for whatever reason and now wondering if I should just leave well enough alone. Several gaming kids and me in the house and if all running ok dont want to mess with it. But if the newer modems performance is know to better, I might try it.
In another forum area in this community they said I might see a improvement becaus the newer modem supports 8 downstream channel bonding, while my current one only supports 4. I talked to Road Runner tech support and they could not answer whether my area (Cincinnati) is 8 downstream channel bonding ready. Thanks!
I think only parts of texas had 8 channels, so you should not see any difference.

FWIW. Don't know about your area but in mine the 6120 is not an approved modem for TWC. The 6141 is an approved TWC modem.
