Re: The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim: Dragonborn - Official Trailer

said by Ghastlyone:

So if I'm reading this correctly...

Basically, build yourself a shit computer that can't run anything properly and then proceed to pirate every game you can and blame it on the game designers for shitty programming.

Your not understanding what I mean.. You can go and buy a computer or build your very own, then go by a game like skyrim 5, say you play with other friends. You both have the same OS, same game settings, and etc.. EXCEPT for having the same hardware, you will notice a difference with different hardware..
and no this is not a illegal copy i am talking about in this post, both you and your friend have a legit copy.

EDIT: yes both computers are meant for gaming.

I'm not going to say that you shouldn't pirate. I'm just going to say that unless you've put forth money on a game, your voice really shouldn't count when it comes to criticizing the game.

I don't think you understand how the game works. I'm betting money on you never actually playing it.

The variation in hardware has nothing to do with this game--every PC performs slightly differently, which is why GPU drivers are updated so often--they want to make sure video cards play well with every mobo/CPU combo.

YMMV, but this "game-breaking" threshold you are trying to describe about Skyrim just isn't there. I have a very unique computer, i7-920, 24 GB ram, RAID 0 and an SSD, Radeon 7970, dual monitors of differing resolutions. I can play Skyrim and nearly any other game just fine (it freezes periodically only in WoW, but that's another issue).

If you are really trying to say you hate how PCs aren't a "one size fits all" carbon copy of every other PC out there... go buy yourself a console.

On another topic--how are you torrenting games via your non-broadband satellite connection???

Nope. I understand perfectly what you mean.

You have a shit computer you use to justify pirating games. While the vast majority of people that post in this forum have little to no problems at all running their purchased PC games.

I hate to break it to him ever further, that I played the majority of Skyrim on a ASUS Core2Duo LAPTOP with 6GB RAM & I think GTX260m (something along those lines) and it played just fine.

The bugs he mentions make up .01% of the gaming experience, if that, and are so easily corrected or avoided entirely.

Couple that, as has been mentioned, with just the unreal amount of content and gorgeous textures / scenery through out the game and his silly claims get even more silly.

Skyrim has set the bar, and imo, is the de facto example of how SP_RPG's should be done. Nothing else out there even comes close.

Go find another mole hill to climb, diablo1892 See Profile, this one just isn't going to cut it.

I have to agree with others here, I've put many hours into Skyrim (been awhile, think i was level 67ish) and added a ton of mods, i have yet to see anything that made the game unplayable or game breaking.

/edit

Back on topic, I will be getting this DLC, looks interesting.

I guess I should break out the game and get the first two DLCs first, eh?

Honestly, I bought the first one and haven't got around to playing it really yet, just like 30 mins into it then got sidetracked. The second one, I have a hard time buying it as all it is, is for housing. Unless i'm missing something, i guess it would be alright for more immersion into the game but so many mods out there for housing that i really don't think i'll miss it heh.

I suppose the 2nd DLC could be alright for someone on xbox that doesn't have access to all the mods that can be had on the PC.
