anon posted : I have Excede, and last evening I was never able to get any access at all.. dns didn't work, I did a traceroute to 8.8.8.8 and there were around 20 hops, each hop took between 10 to 60 seconds to complete... what a joke... With Excede I sometimes feel like I'm in a 3rd world country.. plus the damn high price I'm paying.. $100+ per month... I'm just about ready to jump to Hughes

reporter posted : I have tried both recently. Hughsnet you get what they advertise. Basic plan 10 down and a little over 1 MB up. With excede they advertise 12 down and 3 MB up. It varies from 3 down to 3 up to a blazing 15 down and 5 up. Depending on what time of day. They both work great for streaming video. I believe hughsnet is just a touch faster from page to page browsing, but excede wins hands down with skype video.
