Re: Ohio Secretary of State installs "experimental" vo
Well, I just got home from a polling place in Ohio where I am a roster judge.
A roster judge greets the voter and evaluates his/her ID and either issues an authority to vote or sends them off to the paper judge to resolve problems.
I issued authorities to 183 voters. Around 170 had picture ID with their current address. The remainder had some other acceptable ID, including utility bills, child support docs (!), etc.
I sent about ten to the paper judge. Most needed to vote provisionally because they had changed their name (marriage), had bad ID, etc.
A very long day, but no real issues.
Pretty typical. This precinct is definitely not in a fancy neighborhood. Around 20% black, 95% blue collar. A good quantity of ethnics, mostly africans, especially Somali.
