Yeah I checked the manual and it said to do exactly what I did, but also had a side note as to how to shorten or lengthen the cycle or also delay the cycle for later time.

Maybe you need to select the cycle lenght before it starts.

No you don't have to.

I think I know what it is. I did some reading and suspect that the actuator that locks the door once it is latched is not functional anymore.

Or the sensor that detects if the door is closed.
You'll have to start looking into the wiring diagram of that stove, or go clean it by HAND!!!! :O

Tried starting the self-clean and then open and reclose the door?
Unplugging replugging it?
Or wait for an hour.

Yeah I'm going to check the sensor with my meter to eliminate that.
