The NWS seriously effed up this forecast...I have 3"+ of Glenn's Delight all over my driveway in Middletown, drifts to 5-6", and it's still snowing... |

Re: [SNOW] Nor'easter 11/7/2012 Just measured 5-1/2" to 6" accumulation in the center of my driveway and on top of my enclosed car trailer, both are4 in clear areas.

Turned 55 in August. Diminishing arterial circulation = now I understand the fascination with moving south for the Winter. Yesterday was a balmy 30 something degrees. It felt more like 12 below. I used to do 30s in a T shirt. Now more like Roald Admundsen.
Two or maybe three bedroom something or other on the trolley line in the Garden District would do. Maybe some breakfast at Mother's. Lunches at Acme Oyster House? Soft shell crab sammich. That could work.
Old people suck. 
In other news - both the boss's and my snowblowers fired right up. Hmmm. Is there an omen in there? Spent some time with a heat gun to modify the discharge chute on the boss's big Toro. Time has warped the plastic inward just under that flap that determines height of snow blow, slowing down my progress. Can't have that. Asked the guy at Agway for shear pins for the Toro. He said Toros don't shear pins. They use 5/16 bolts. In retrospect, I guess he's right. Am errant wood chunk last year bent an impeller, then stalled the trusty Tecumseh (Thanks Chief) - no shear. Further retrospect. Wow. S'lotta power. |

An honest 8-9" in the driveway this AM.
Sunday I cut the lawn for the final time, removed the deck and cleaned it, and checked the long-range forecast. Nor'easter showed some rain and light mixed snow, followed by potential 60s after. Thinking I just need might to cut the lawn one last time, I decided to not mount the snowthrower to the tractor.
Not happy with the weather forecasting this week. not happy at all. |

I got some snow...
It was about the same for the entire driveway.
And it was wet... the blower clogged a few times forming chunks of ice in the chute... |
