Youtube Streaming DownI'm having trouble streaming youtube at most times of the day for the last 2-3 days. I've only got it to work a couple times, 4am this morning and for about 5 minutes yesterday evening.
I've narrowed it down to WOW or youtube by trying multiple devices on my connection; cell phones, tablets, two pc's. If the cell phone or tablet is on the cellular data everything works fine. I guess it could be a youtube problem but my work has wow also and they aren't experiencing any problems. I looked at the google forums to find a topic on this problem but they are all geared towards a software problem.
I load a page on youtube. An ad may or may not play, usually won't play. The video tries to load for about 30-40 secs. I get "an error has occurred please try again later".
Can anyone else see if they are having problems as well? I have the 20mb connection w/digital cable and speed has not been a persistent issue in the past.
Thanks. |

I am having the exact same problems you described. Starting a few days ago (2-3, can't be sure), youtube videos stopped playing. Every now and then, I can get one to play, but for the most part they will try to load for up to 30 seconds and then show the message "An error occurred. Please try again later." Sometimes an ad will try to play, but it won't load either.
I have tried all the Google recommended fixes (clearing cache, updating flash, etc), but none have worked thus far. |

Try using a different dns server. If you are using WOW's, try google's or opendns instead. |

It doesn't just appear to be YouTube.. It appears to be intermittent issues with a host of Google hosted services.. My big issue is the inability to download from the Play Store or update apps on my mobile.. If I connect to another internet service in the area (non WOW or 3G), I can connect and download updates just fine. Maybe WOW_Dan can shed some light? This started about 3 days ago. Was downloading apps, updates, etc from Google just fine before. |

In addition, I have tried switching my DNS servers over to Google pub dns as well. No dice. |

I would need a more information before I could give any insight. I would need your account number/phone number, as well as some trace route information to affected sites. If you can send me that info, I can try and take a look at it and see what's going on. |

I IM'd Dan my info.
If he figures it out I'll reply here. |

exact same problem here, just started a few days ago. I can see some text in the lower left hand corner of the browser before it times out. Some like "o-o---preferred---sn tc.v12.cache" |

Dan suggested that I try taking my router out of the equation. I went home to do that but decided to try it normally first. It worked and has been working fine since. Must have been a google problem after all. |

I'm having the same problem. Every video service on the web works except Youtube on my home network. I take my phone or IPad to an outside network and it works fine. At home I have tried playing youtube on my android phone, 3 IPads, 2 laptops, one with Vista, one with Windows 7, and a Desktop computer through ethernet directly to the router. What I can assume is that it's not the computer, the operating system, not the platform, not the version of flash. I've reset the router, rebooted the computers, the phone and the IPads. It did start working again for about 24 hours, then stopped again this afternoon. Is wow blocking Youtube for some reason.
When I load a video in the Youtube window the loading indicator spins until I get an error message stating that an unknown error occurred, try again later. Ironically during that time I can scroll across the timeline and see the scrolling thumbnail across the whole video, and the full window video appears ghosted in the viewer. But it simply won't play.
I can go to any other video service, Vimeo, Google, IMDB, Apple Video, I can download videos, I can play videos stored on the device, I just cant play video from the Youtube player on any device on my home network.
What gives?

Didn't mean Google, but any site with a propitiatory video player. News sites, TV network sites, etc. All play without issue.

I'm having the exact same problem. There are thousands of these over the years if you Google it, but I've tried ALL solutions to no avail. Desperately need this fixed as I work from home and need this. It started last week, and it doesn't matter what browser, Chrome or Firefox (Windows 7 and Flash is updated/was updated when problem started)
Go to YouTube: Problem: an error occurred. please try again later STEPS: Firefox, download uninstalled Flash via Adobe, close browser. Reinstall. YouTube Problem: an error occurred. please try again later
Googled answers say clear cookies, history (pfft)-- They are set to automatically clear when the browser closes. So that doesn't work.
Another Google answer was to uninstall RealPlayer or RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin. I have neither to uninstall in the first place.
Tried from Chrome this time, going to Adobe, downloading another uninstall in case the first was corrupted. Then reinstall. Go to YouTube: Problem: an error occurred. please try again later Googled solution so I tried opt-in HTML5 trial via Google. Then the error changes after about the same amount of time as if it were trying to load -- "this video is currently unavailable"
When I close browser, then I am no longer a part of the HTML5 trial if not logged in, but repeat all steps, same errors. HTML5 error is "this video is currently unavailable" Flash error is an error occurred. please try again later.
Then tried disabling all extensions, restart browser, YouTube Problem: an error occurred. please try again later.
Uninstalled all Adobe products from Windows this time. Reinstalled flash, repeated four times with each time a new copy of Adobe install just in case it was corrupting, but YouTube Problem: an error occurred. please try again later.
Did the same steps and YouTube would say in Firefox to install Adobe plugin. Check. Chrome would not say it.
Was so desperate that I tried it in IE, even though I had just redone all steps and installed Flash, IE said You need Adobe flash installed to watch videos. Tried it
. YouTube Problem: an error occurred. please try again later.
Reboot router, no difference. This problem came out of the blue. I work from home, need this resolved. Please advise! I have screenshots, not that I can upload them here. Occasionally I see the same basic error as tester1 -- Some like "o-o---preferred---sntc.v12.cache"
Is this a WOW issue, like Netflix sometimes is? Ive been having speed fluctuations terribly since the 3rd week of August? |

Well mine started acting flakey again. I disconnected the old Linsys wrt54g and it worked instantly. I would suggest you other people having this problem to try this and see what happens and let us know.
I think it is a google problem. I found that the play store isn't working either.
If the router was going bad I would think service would be out completely on many sites; not just during the day with google. Mine still works fine early in the morning with the wifi or wired router connection. Maybe google is rolling out ipv6 gear and the backward compatibility isn't working well? Who knows. I'll be getting me some DD-WRT for my linksys and see if the ipv6 support helps out at all.
I'll update here when I find something out.
edit: I also found a few people on reddit having this same issue. |

My router is an Arris DG950. 30/3 is my service.
Forgot to add that I tried the other "fixes" like video resolution, pop out video...all those and still the YouTube Problem: an error occurred. please try again later |

Here's an interesting tid-bit. If I go into my youtube account and view my own videos, they will not play in the standard youtube player window. But they will play in the youtube video editor player within the personal account section. Someone must solve this. |

I found a recent topic on the google product forums and linked them here. » productforums.google.com ··· scussionMaybe somebody at google will see it. |

I switched to openDNS and nothing changed. |

I've been on OpenDNS and nothing.
It seems intermittent quite honestly. |

In Columbus, not using any alternative DNS, Youtube working fine. Would probably hurt someone if it wasn't...lol. |

Now after 36 hours, its working again. |

Currently working, though I anticipate within 14 hours it will not be working again, as that has been a semi-reliable pattern in this matter. |

I'm glad I am not the only one having this issue. So far, they have been treating this as an isolated issue. I have send this forum info to them and hopefully they can collaborate with WOW_Dan and get this resolved sooner than later.

And... it stopped again.
In fact a video that was left open last night played only to a point it had gotten to then gave me the error message. |

Are you guys talking about just regular old Youtube? Meaning any Youtube video or is this something more specific? |
