Was told the wait was 45 minutes, but got a rep in about 20.

During the time that I was on hold I tried several times to play videos and download from the play store.

I had some success and things seemed to be back up and running again.

The rep I spoke to indicated my modem had not been rebooted in 97 days (I had unplugged it for 1 minute a couple of times recently). She sent the reboot trigger and when everything came back up: no youtube or playstore again.

This is so bizarre.

JamfSlayer posted : Test out updating your Android apps via the Play Store connected to WiFi on UltraTV... YouTube and Play Store seem to be an intermittent constant :) if that makes sense... I'm assuming there are some routing issues between WOW back end systems and Google's systems.. Changing your DNS IPs to Google's or OpenDNS do not fix the issue...

jupiter47 posted : I agree. This is more than likely a google issue. They have, in the past, rolled out changes and new tech before everything is perfected for all applications. This could be caused by a number of different things.

I was connected directly with the modem at lunch today and youtube service was intermittent. I would get the "An error has occurred. Please try again later." issue but after a couple refreshes it would come through alright.

So I guess this thread should be closed. A new thread should be started with google and then maybe with enough squaking we'll get noticed.

I would suggest you guys get on the google products thread I posted to earlier and blow it up. This isn't really the correct platform for this problem.

anon posted : I get 1 video to play every 10 or 15 times I try and then nothing. I think I get it working when one of the ADs starts to play but then the actual video won't play.

Just got a new android phone and not having the play store available vai WIFI is maybe even a bigger deal. Using 3G connection to download all the apps I want to install is a painfully slow process. My Android table it dead in the water as I don't even have the 3G option there. Without the play store available by wifi to add anything to it I would need to side load the apk which is not too easy. I haven't tried it yet, but i may not even be able to do that as my PC might not be able to connect to the playstore to download the apk.

Anyway, this is a really frustrating issue. I can't get through to WOW customer service, the last time I waited 15 minutes on hold and then got voicemail. I've already tried their usual fixes of rebooting, etc.

Glad I'm not alone and that as a group we seem to have determined this is a WOW-Google issue and not something within our homes.
