 | [BC] old 2wire router Does anyone know if it is possible to use my old otherwise useless router on a cable internet service? the modem was fried by a power surge and doesn't work on my telus high speed anymore. My parents have cable and an old ethernet router (no wifi). The router seems to work fine however it's a 2wire 2700hg-e firmware version4. if it is possible is it easy to do? The router used to work well for me better than my siemens 567 that I'm using now. |

looks like no |
|
 | thanks! It sounds like the modem has to be disabled in the settings menu? |
|
 | reply to cbas It can work as a router. But why would you use it?
You'd need the root login for it to toggle it to router mode. Pain. As well, it has wireless b/g only. Just go buy a basic router with b/g/n for like $30. -- I may work for, but do not necessarily represent the views and beliefs of TELUS Communications. |
