Here are my modem stats by typing in 10.0.0.1

Interface Status Rate

Maintenance > Diagnostic > DSL Line

noise margin upstream: 26 db

noise margin downstream: 31 db
output power upstream: 12 db
attenuation downstream: 17 db

This is my newer line by the way.
--------------------------------------------------
This is not BRIDGED

Here is my Olderline STATS - THIS IS MODEM IS STRAIGHT TO MY COMPUTER

660 series

Interface Status Rate
DSL Up 1760 kbps / 288 kbps

noise margin upstream: 31 db
output power downstream: 19 db
attenuation upstream: 9 db

noise margin downstream: 45 db
output power upstream: 12 db
attenuation downstream: 18 db

-----------------------
I had my older line bridged modem to dlink which was great but i did a hard reset on it because someone suggesting it was my dlink doing it. (even though i know its not my dlink) but those tests above are modem > laptop directly

-----------------------------

Like i said there was a very smart guy i was talking to on phone which centurylink and he was saying its a internal network issue and he was sending a ENGINEER out here instead of a TECHICIAN but there was miscommuncation when the ENGINEER called us and we said it was getting better.

It really sucks becasue we called that Engineer back up and it seems like he knew what he was talking about but he disnt live around here.

A techicnian came out here and said EVERYTHING IS FINE. LATENCY DOSNT MATTER he told me.. He said its only a 1.5mb connection and explaiend to him that download speed and upload speed have no IMPACT on Latency.

Like i said before i got that extra line in July everything was SOOOOOOO GREAT.

Its weird because it can work great for 20 minutes and the rest of the day its horrible.

Then they make me go here

Poor results on speedtest.net - »www.speedtest.net/result/2383533167.png showing 332 ping but with great download speed of 1.5mb download
If i were to ping Sacramento right now i get over 500ms. Seattle has always been the greatest sever to connect to though.
as i was noticing doing this ping test i saw my brother playing on the xbox on the different modem i saw his lag get signifficantly worse (he had two bars then it went to 1 bar)1 bar signifies over 250 ping) when i was running the speed test. When i stopped the speedtest the lag started to drop. from my guess would be 450ms to 190ms. Its like the lines are connected, its soo werid.

-----------------------------------------------

my newer line stats are showing me

im using
»spdtst-dlls.tx.centurylink.net/

Latency is 200 ms
Download speed 1.1mb
Upload speed .40mbs

My speedtest to seattle on speedtest.net

Showing me 1.4mb download speed and upload speed .50 mb upload speed. Latecny is 40 ping

Im gonna wait 10 minutes and do it again so i dont "flood" it

K Latency is different but same upload and download speeds.. 350ms

Its up and up and down.. There is no solid ping with my connection "ANYMORE" There use to be i know what my pings use to be.

google.com is pinging anywhere from 30ms to 1100

----------------------------------------------
Here is another update just to show you guys im in the 500 ping nows.

I will go out to the NID when it gets warm outside and plug the modem dirtlcy into it. Its snowing right now. If it works then its a wireing issue if its dosnt work then its a streep drop off and it needs to be replaced.

"Try connecting both modems to the test jacks at the NID (at the same time, short line cords, separate as much as possible) and see if the problem is still there. If so, you may need your drop from the street replaced. If not, your wiring is the issue and the two DSL lines are interfering with each other. I would suggest filters at the NID with a home run for each modem."

Once it warms up i will do that.

the Drop on my street i remember seeing the technican when he was adding my line pull out all the wires out if it and it was a mess! It looked so disorganized and it looked liked he didnt know what he was doing.
