Thanks for WinDirStat. I had Diskdata and TreeSize. The graphics on this are cool because it lets you drill down in the graph while keeping the whole drive size in perspective....Diskdata doesn't do that well at all.

You don't really want to touch winsxs it will just mess things up, and there's not much you can do about its size. Disk Cleanup might free a little bit of the space. Also the size may not even be that accurate.

I cleared cache, which was 0.15 GB
Then I cleared History, which freed up 0.4 GB more

So I'm down to a little under 1.5 GB for the Google Folder.

Regarding to Google. I presume that you use Chrome browser and it may accumulate a lot of data in its AppData folder. You can/should manage it with removing its history data. Otherwise it may just grow there almost indefinitely... There is a simple way I do it with my Iron (aka Chrome):
1. I launch it with shortcut, that contains option like this:
-user-data-dir="D:\Temp\Iron\p".
It uses profile on drive D: and never uses its default profile on drive C:
2. Time to time I clean up the profile folder, keeping its configuration only (pure profile with all its configuration, bookmarks, extensions is usually less then 160KiB in size). I' found BAT files, that help me to do it here.

When you update your Chrome/Iron, you update executable files only. Your profile on drive D: remains intact and usable again...

dave posted : 20GB is the absolute minimum for installing 64-bit Windows 7, (which says nothing about installing updates thereafter), and everyone knows that you can't really expect software to work with its minimum configuration ;-)

So I think you're on to a losing proposition.
