Lockport, IL | 3way switch 3way switch at the top of the stairs went bad so I just bought two new ones to replace the one at the top and bottom of stairs. Replaced one at the top of the stairs in the same configuration I took it off. I didn't take pics of the one at the top of the stairs before I started fiddling with it. So now the light only works when one switch is in a certain position, if that makes any sense. I believe the black at the top of the stairs is a constant hot and the other two are the travelers (I think). So I put the black on the common on the switch, correct? Anyways here a picture of the switch at the bottom of the stairs before I took it apart. Clockwise from top left is white, red, black.
