[DIRECTV] Coming back to DirecTv, what to expect with install...

Left them about 7 months ago due to a home disaster, and D* wasn't all that helpful with the repair process.
Went to ATT U-Verse, and they are a bit worse in my opinion. I liked their wireless receivers, and that was about it. The ATT recorder and pause, at times were unresponsive.

So going back to D*, they are offering me a free Genie system.
But I am wondering if one of my SD tv will work with it.

The TV should work fine with it. My parents previously had DirecTV then Dish before going to Crap-Verse for almost a year. They switched back to DirecTV in July and could not be happier. It is cheaper and the picture and sound quality are so much better.

Glad to hear that it will work.
I loved my old DirecTivos. They were 3 Samsung 4080-R. I 'hacked' them to 500 Gig each, networked, and media share. But a tree fell and trashed the dish. I had them about 7 years. Rock solid and only about 45 minutes of down time from bad weather.

I know that D* is good. I miss being able to record ASAP and I hope I can get the 'trick play' back.
