 | [cayman] How to use 3347 DownStream, Router/Switch? Hi, I bought a used second 3347-02 and need to use the 2nd one, not on DSL, but as a downstream wireless router/switch.
Changing the login IP to »192.168.1.244, and plugging the lan cable into one of the lan ports, I can easily access the software and access all the settings.
I did a telnet download from my primary 3347 (on the DSL Line) and uploaded those settings to the downstream 3347, making sure to change the IP back from 254 to 244 to prevent a collision.
Firmware on both is R4. Right now it connects to the lan and that's it, it can't ping the gateway or anything else.
I have a feeling some advance bridging needs to be done.
Much appreciate your advice on the proper downstream settings.

| Since the 3347 WAN port is DSL you are not going to be able to use it as a router but you can easily use it as an Ethernet switch and Access Point.
1) Disable DHCP 2) Connect one of the LAN ports on the 3347 to the other router or Ethernet switch. You will probably need a crossover cable I don't think the 3347 does Auto-Mdix.

 | Thanks much, Tschmidt.
I applied these settings: WAN Enable Gateway Option Interface IP Address 192.168.1.254 for the default gateway
LAN, DHCP Server, OFF Advanced. NAT Default Mode: IP Passthrough DHCP Un-checked. DNS Server settings, Yes Other stuff was default
Fortunately I didn't have to build a crossover cable; guess this model is new enough to detect and adjust.
I think I'd like to make it do wireless bridge next.
Thanks again!!! Mongoose |
