[LA] 4 upstream channelsMy modem sees 4 upstream channels, but not bonded. I do have 4 bonded downstream. Is this a sign of things to come? Will they merge them together in the near future? |

What do you mean by it sees them but won't bond them? Do you reboot and keep checking the frequency?
If you are talking about the number next to the modulation scheme, that's not the number of channels. I haven't figured out what that number is, it's not the number of channels available though. |

Cox runs 4 upstream frequencies through my area in Kenner but upstream bonding isn't turned on right now. We've had four upstream frequencies for quite a while now, probably over a year. |

If the modem as to be rebooted for any reason, it will detect channels 1, 2, 3, or 4. Mostly channel 4. All 4 won't show up at the same time. I have a SB6121. I think there have been node issues in my area. Upstream noise is still showing up but not as often.

I have a lot of errors too.

My power went out for 1 hour, but when it came back, my upstream power was a bit higher. My connection is also pretty good, at the moment. Could something from the power company cause low signals for a cable company? It would seem that they feed off of each other.

Yeah, Cox runs those four frequencies to spread around the bandwidth. Some people will lock to one, some will lock to another. But when upstream bonding is turned on, anyone with a D3 modem will lock to whatever Cox has set up to bond, so long as as the signal quality permits. If Cox ups the 2.56Msym/sec to 5.12Msym/sec on these 64QAM channels, we'll see quite a large speed increase on upload. If they bond those upstream channels, then you're talking a massive speed increase, if Cox decides to up the throughput cap that is. |
