Re: [TWC] Best way to connect TWC RR Internet to two computers?

What cable modem do you have? Even with the gateway cable modems. (They act as both modem and router.) TW can place them in bridge mode then they supply the router with a public IP address. Your router then supplies private ip to your hardware. No double NAT going on.

It is a Scientific Atlanta 2100, recently installed. Service has been nothing short of fantastic. What can you tell me about it and its likely set up or how to discover its setup?

Hi dcurrey, others,

Here is a netstat /all scan result and an ipconfig /all result. Do I need TWC to do something different here for me before I can add a router and connect two computers?

All you have to do is plug the cable going into your PC into the WAN port of your new router. Following that, unplug the power to your modem and plug it back in again. This will make sure your modem sees your router as the new end device. When all this is said and then, there's no reason you shouldn't have Internet access from the LAN side. It may not hurt to do a ipconfig /release on your PC before disconnecting it from the modem. You can also restart the computer too. This will ensure you pull an IP address from your router. Hope this helps!
