Re: Are you a "collector"?
Well I have a nostalgic decompression room with a studio quality CRT TV, 100 or so Nintendo NES games I enjoyed in the 80's, a few thousand store bought DVD's and a few hundred laser discs (with a working player), graphic novels, my audio CD collection and my record collection.
This room was once popular with the kids of friends but not so much these days.
I also have a few computers and some audio production equipment in there but not so much time to enjoy it these days.
When I'm out and about and randomly encounter some of these items at a really low price, I'll grab a stack of NES games or an effects controller. At one point I discovered that garage sales are a wealth of unexpected surprises, like original boxed NES games in perfect quality for a buck a piece.
I guess that classifies me as a collector but I'm not actively engaged in maintaining my collection or its value, if any. It's just there when I want to relax.
