You should have posted prices for comparing :-p
Small-Business, Internet-Only pricing in my area (Harrisburg, PA):
2 Yr contract, dynamic IP 15/5 = $70 50/25 = $80 75/35 = $100 150/65 = $190 300/65 = $280
2 Yr contract, static IP 50/25 = $100 75/35 = $120 150/65 = $210 300/65 = $300
No contract, dynamic IP 15/5 = $80 50/25 = $90 75/35 = $110 150/65 = $200 300/65 = $290
No contract, static IP 50/25 = $110 75/35 = $130 150/65 = $220 300/65 = $310 |

Yeah I was hoping they would have put the 150/65 in a lower price bracket and make the 300/65 that high $210 one, instead they just invented a higher bracket for it and put the 150/65 on the old high price point. Oh well guess I'll go with 75/35 |

So jealous! I'd love to roll out FiOS at our office. Unfortunately Comcast seems to have the monopoly in our business park! |

Oh well guess I'll go with 75/35 Yeah.. these prices are crap.. I am definitely going to be switching one of my lines from business to residential as one is dynamic. I may even consider doing the other one too as the only reason I have business is to have a static IP and I don't think its worth paying $100/month just for a single static IP. |

The ip.addresses on fios almost never change unless you manually release a lease, and renew it sometime later.I don't see what paying the extra money for really affords you |

Also isn't it against the Residential TOS to run a server on the connection? (even if technically port 80 is open) |

(even if technically port 80 is open) The TOS is pretty much open-ended, they could decide at any time to cut your line if your usage is high(according to them). How many people actually have the TOS enforced on them? |

So what's the best way to upgrade from 35/35 to 75/35? It looks like my price for business static in my area will only increase by $5 based on online prices, but their system says I can't do it online due to an error... what. :\ |

Yeah I had to call in and talk to sales to have it changed |

Yea, I called in to upgrade from 35/35 to 75/35.. its only about 5-10$ difference anyway. The 150/65 and 300/65 were breaking the budget on top of the 61 IPs (120/mo).
A verizon rep suppose to call me back tomorrow because her system wasn't allowing the upgrade from 35/35 to 75/35 (apparently only 50/25, 150/65, 300/65) strange. |

So in that regard, all Verizon can see is encrypted point-to-point traffic, not an open server. If you were pointing that to someone else, then, um, well.... please disregard. |

I thought my speeds will automatically increase to 75/35 but I guess not. I do have 35/35 static and I will call Verizon tomorrow. I hope they won't be increasing my monthly price since it cost the same as the previous 35/35 at $119 static with 2 year contract. |
|
|
That is what I'm hoping to achieve... if someone can fix their darn system so I can upgrade. |

Mine actually stayed the same |
|
|
So it looks like they updated the website and I have no choice to upgrade to 75/35. Looks like 150/65 or 300/65. |
|
mario44222 |
Got conflicting info again.. Hopefully they can get me at 75/35. |
|
|
I call Verizon this morning and ask him if he can bump me to 75/35. He said it will go in to effect his evening. Now I get home and run the verizon speedtest but only getting 57.77 megs down. The upload speeds are normal. |

Turns out they made a mistake, they increase my speeds to 50/35 I have to call the billing department when they open at 8:30 dammit... |
|
|
My upgrade apparently never happened yet... |
|
mario44222 |
Ugh.. so another rep says its not available and its only 50/25, 150/65, 300/65. The price jump from 35M/35M is an additional 139/mo .. so no way. |

So 75/35 isn't even on the business website as an option?
I'd demand a supervisor, most of the sales people have no idea what they're talking about, they just put in orders. Sounds like the system might be broke for your area and it's confusing them. |

If you are on a Motorola BPON ONT, you can't get anything faster than 50/25 unless you get a new GPON ONT installed. |
|
|
Thats fine if they want to replace the ONT, but then why not upgrade to 75/35 instead of forcing me to go to 150/65 and then paying an additional 100$ |

I'm willing to bet you just had a stupid sales rep, if you talk them into upgrading to GPON (Even if that means ordering 150/65 for a day just to lower it back to 75/35 after they install the new ONT) you may have to explain the thinking behind that part to them.
That's why I usually just ask for a super when they tell me something I know isn't true. Thee supers sometimes have somewhat better critical thinking skills than your regular sales drone, sometimes...
Verizon's customer service is a PITA, all the money goes to the network. Always has, always will. |

Would it be an issue with the 61 IPs I currently have assigned to me? |
