 | Ultra Tv -- not able to get online with new Smart TV?? I am using the ultra TV gateway as my router, we just purchased a smart TV--went through the wireless connect screen-entered password, ect. connection has failed. I cycled the gateway, still not able to connect. I have never had any other issued connecting devices to my wireless network.
Any thoughts??
TIA!! |

Signal strength, or mistyped password perhaps? |

 | reply to christine thanks for the info. I did a ton of TV troubleshooting today with no luck....signal strength could be a reason, but all other wireless devices work fine in that room? Is that still possible?? |

What TV are you using? Maybe you can prove it connects on a wired connection? |

 | reply to christine if I were you, I would try changing the wow gateway wireless encryption type to either wpa2-personal, or even try disabling it temporarily to rule out authentication. perhaps the tv doesn't support whatever you're using.
after that, i'd make sure you're using 20mhz channel width, also try setting a static channel like 1 or 11 then trying again. |

 | reply to christine thanks for the suggestions! The gateway might be too far to me to try a wired connection--I will have to try and move it to another cable outlet closer to the TV.
I tried changing the security on the router and also making it an open network....no luck....this should be much easier---not so much a "smart TV" is it?? any other suggestions?? |

 | reply to christine OK-so my cable was able to reach---connects fine to internet hardwired---where do I go from here? |

|
 | reply to christine The ultratv wireless is really, really bad. Are you using 2.4 ghz? Did you try checking the wireless network advanced properties to make sure channel bonding is disabled? I don't remember the rest of the config options because I ditched it myself.
Can you look in the tv documentation for any details about the wireless compatability? Maybe you need to force your router to G or N only and see if that helps. |

If you do see if their is an app that will let you see what wifi signals are available and their strength for android »play.google.com/store/apps/detai···er&hl=en
With this you can check the wifi strength and see if thats and issue. I had an issue with stable connections to my linksys router and found I had 4 neighbours with strong signals in range and all were on the same channel. I changed the channel on mine and got a stable connection. |
