Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 to Be Released for Download Tomorrow
...

Microsoft has already announced its plans to release a new preview build of Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 in November, but it appears that the company will debut the new app on Patch Tuesday.

...

Keep in mind that this is just a preview version of the Windows 7 build of Internet Explorer 10.

There’s no word on the official release date of the final app, but sources familiar with the matter have hinted that Microsoft could unveil it in early 2013.

I wonder how this update will be delivered to the end users, as far as it being forced like IE8 and IE9, or if it will be an optional update (like Bing Desktop for example).

I know every time Microsoft does this, there is a lot of uproar over automatic installation of a new browser, and companies have to do a lot of extra steps so that it does not come down and install along with the normal monthly security updates.

Do we have any information yet how this will work? I am guessing since this is just a preview of Internet Explorer 10, tomorrow's update should be an optional one. The question is more when it does go live, if it will still be optional, or if Microsoft will try to "force" everyone on Windows 7 to upgrade to IE10.

I wonder if we will have to uninstall the Preview version to install the Release version?

Re: [Info] Patch Tuesday: Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7

Although I can't wait for IE10 for Windows 7, I won't be trialling preview releases of IE.
»/r0/download/2···9/ie.gif I do like the fact that it continues to look VERY MUCH like Windows 7 IE9.

IE10: Fast, Fluid, Perfect for Touch: Now Available for WIN7

IE10: Fast, Fluid, Perfect for Touch, and Available Now for Windows 7

...

You can experience IE10’s leading performance first hand with new demos on the IE Test Drive site with examples of hardware accelerated rendering in the Aston Martin 3D visualization for high frame rates, and interactivity, touch, and media with Audio Explosion.

The Mandelbrot test drive is another example of how IE10 runs real world sites fast, particularly sites with computationally intensive JavaScript and graphics. In this demo you can drill into detailed views of the Mandelbrot set and see how long it takes to calculate the view and how many iterations are calculated per second

...

The chart ... shows the result of Mandelbrot calculations for 21 presets run in IE10, Chrome 23, and Firefox 16, showing IE10 on average is over twice as fast as Chrome and about 20% faster than Firefox. Each calculation was run on identical hardware, a single Samsung Series 9 laptop with an Intel® Core™ i5-2537M CPU @ 1.40 Ghz with 4GB of memory running 64-bit Windows 7. You can see the full data results from this comparison here.

Just note that 'Do Not Track' in IE10 is useless. Many websites have stated they will IGNORE the setting for IE10 users due to Microsoft setting it on by default. As it is, it's pretty much useless anyways.
