MFC/R2 vs ISDN

We have an office in Brazil and it has to call everyday to Spain. The office in Brazil has MFC/R2 and we have ISDN here in Spain. My question is, ¿can the protocol difference slow call initiation? Right now, with MFC/R2 in Brazil, the time elapsing from making the call and receiving the "welcome" message is of about 20 seconds. How much can this be lowered if the line is changed to ISDN?

Thanks!

ISDN would be a better choice. Do the two sites have a Data connection? if they do have a decent size data circuit, it may be best to run the voice call thru the data circuit to lower the cost as well as performance...
