Depends what part of the company... Some parts of Bell/Rogers/TELUS/MTS were off today. Some worked...

There honestly is no rhyme or reason anymore as to who's off when...

most federal Crown corporations
private businesses necessary to the operation of a federal act

Federal law. That's why. You'll notice there was no mail delivery today, either. Several provinces, but not all, also have Rememberance Day as a stat as well.
