kevnich24 posted : The 4620 hotspot will work just fine with a prepaid 4g SIM card from verizon , just be careful with the form factor on it. My advice is to actually buy a 4g sim card from ebay from a reputable seller (look at their feedback rating), then call the verizon prepaid activation number and activate the sim card ID, then pop it in, select your plan and done. The 4620 uses a 3FF sim card vs the 4510 that verizon actually sells strictly for their prepaid hotspot that uses a 2FF form factor. With an adapter, the 3FF can be used in a 2FF slot, but a 2FF needs to be cut down to fit in a 3FF slot.

On ebay the sim cards are usually around $4 or so so their fairly cheap.

Jim8080 posted : Yes, per the current link for the 4620LE:
If necessary, select prepaid.

For plans (amount of data and time available), go to
»www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/prep···pjetpack Click View Plan Details. The older 4510L is currently listed, too.

I'm about ready to purchase one, and their web site is frustrating, changing from time to time. For example, the 250MB plan, useful to verify your Jetpack is working ok before leaving on a trip, isn't always listed. I want the external window mount antenna so I can use it inside an aluminum sided RV, and it was not listed for a while - but saw it there tonight. Maybe I should act tomorrow before the web site changes again.

Unless you can get a good discount, I would suggest buying direct from Verizon. I have heard Verizon won't support Jetpacks purchased elsewhere.
Jim

szym9341 posted : Twice a year I find myself needing mobile internet. I have a MiFi220, but would like to upgrade to a Verizon LTE device. On their Prepaid page, they only show the Jetpack 4510, but I would like to get the 4620. So far I've found some posts that say yes this is possible, and others that say no, this is not possible. Even some Verizon support says yes, while others say no. I'm planning on buying a used model from eBay without a SIM. If I do, will I be able to activate a 3GB Prepaid plan???
