Michail posted : Thanks, that must be it. I don't have a valve there but I can shut the house off which will help isolate it to the well side.

The check valve and well are only about a year old. Perhaps some sediment may be jamming it? It's buried under ground so I'll have to dig it up. Perhaps I'll give it a good whack and see if that clears it up.

shdesigns posted : If the check valve is leaking, the pressure will bleed off the system back into the well.

If you have a valve between the pump and tank, you could shut it off and see if it holds pressure.

Slow/Invisible water leak

Michail posted : I have a problem that has been driving me crazy for the past couple of weeks. I seem to have a water leak but no signs of one. My jet pump is cycling about every 1/2 hour to hour. In the past that was a sign of a toilet that was stuck. This time I have no signs of anything running or leaking water.

If there was a leak somewhere I think I'd have found the signs by now.

Could it be leaking back down the well? The check valve is only about a year old. Plus I thought if it was the check valve wouldn't the well just lose prime without impacting the pressurized side?
