Late Veteran's DayBetter late than never.
Just a shout out to our Veterans to say thanks for being what you are. You do what so many of us cannot do, and for that, I thank you.
Rock on guys. |

When I enlisted it was still be all that you can be, then we went to Army of One. So over time they just keep reducing the amount of words in the slogan, probably for all the 11 series guys to be able to remember. /salute to all current military and vets |

Damn those Brits When I was in Bosnia in 02 we did our ground and aerial gunnery in the SW section controlled by the UK, and a Welsh mech infantry rolled in next to us to start their exercise the day after we left. Their first night they unpacked what looked like a deuce and a half filled with cases of beer and found out our mobile kitchen trailer had an ice machine. So after we cleared all our weapons and log books we traded ice for beer and got to check out their tracks and they looked around the blackhawks and kiowas we had out there. Was a great time since in the US controlled northern zone there was no alcohol allowed, except in the fenced off portion of Eagle Base that housed the Norweigian contingent that we were not allowed into. |

All the other forces I've ever been around have been allowed alcohol when we weren't...Filipinos, Thais, and the French...I seriously think that we might be the only ones in the world that fight wars sober...
And for all you guys who haven't been there, the limit is only two downrange until you find a buddy or three who doesn't drink and will give you their beer tickets. Networking at its finest. Those are the exact moments that I love being a Hospital Corpsman...I'll step out on a limb and say that within the service, there isn't a more respected group than the US Navy Hospital Corps. There are obvious exceptions, of course - Seals, etc. |
