<description><![CDATA[graniterock posted : People get OHIP cards everyday without photo ID.  They have tightened the rules over the last few years and that has caused a bit of a scramble for lost birth certificates, citizenship papers etc.  Occasionally this causes real trouble if for example a citizenship status isn't what the person thought it was (it does happen with our complicated system).  <br><br>As already noted this woman hasn't been denied coverage.  She has been given more time to get her papers in order which is reasonable.  In my experience OHIP is pretty good about giving 90 day extensions (sometimes more than once).  They also have a pretty good program set up for homeless people with no ID.  I suspect there is either more to the story, the family got bad advice at the counter or the family has misunderstood something.]]></description>

But he had all of his documents in 1 spot....top drawer of his dresser....smart place to put them if you ask me, I'd recommend the same to this woman.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[funny posted : so to solve this she gets here social worker take here to a justice of the peace<br>then she also goes with here and they WILL GIVE you the card<br><br>then you get a money mart prepaid visa put 65$ on it and send for your birth certificate ( yup thats 30$ extra BUT i got mine in ONE BUSINESS day this way...) then you take the birt cert and health card down to services canada and do your sin application <br>10 days later you got your sin card<br>total time to get both cards 13 business days....<br>longest being the sin card....of 10 business days.]]></description>

That is the exact path we had to go through with my sister who doesn't have a drivers license.<br><br>Though I should point out that it is by no means anywhere even remotely close to being what I would call an easy process.]]></description>
