A couple of years ago I rented the place out for a few days. They let you do pretty much everything, except I couldnt open the roof. Considering we had speakers hanging from the roof, that was probably a good idea to leave it alone. So when's your next concert tour anyway? That last one was great. Loved your versions of "Honky Tonk Women" and "Moon River."

Jim Tracy walked away from his Rockies job. Not usually a good sign. I had to sigh when some suggested Bobby Cox. Yes, he was a great manager, but he too walked away.
Gibbons wants to be in Toronto.
True story -- EDIT: Took out my words from what I remembered and decided to post what exactly happened (thank-you google for verifying my story!):

(It should be noted that he was sixth. In all of baseball.)
I never thought of that at the time, yes, only 5 teams in AL East, so 6th place ranking was impossible!

But in any case... I think I read somewhere that during the press conference John Gibbons displayed more charisma and personality than John Ferrell did in 2 years... That I must agree 100% with, Farrell was like a statue, no emotion at all... |

Jim Tracy walked away because Rockies brass is stripping all kinds of power away from the manager, and it's one of the least desirable jobs in baseball right now. Bobby Cox walked away because he just wanted to move on after frickin 20 years on the same job. Neither are exactly bad reflections on the person.

The age is not taking away from managerial capability of course, but some of those guys just want to retire at some point you know, spend time with their families after decades in baseball...
Gibby is 50 they said, so he's plenty fresh...

He went from being a manager in Toronto to GM of the Braves. Cant blame a guy for taking a big fat promotion. Eventually he took over managing them himself after 4 years as GM and they put Schuerholz in the GM spot. Bobby Cox was the one who drafted Chipper Jones.
