Internet randomly disconnects, please help!

My internet service randomly disconnects from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. every few minutes, and it interferes with my gaming. I have an actiontec gt784wnv router/modem. I really need help...When it disconnects, the internet light goes out on the modem/router, and my laptop also gets kicked off as well. I've tried calling tech support many times, and they all tell me different things which don't even help...

your downstream rate seems to be out of sync, it should be at 3360 for 3Mbps (assuming that's what you have). same goes for upstream, should be at 864.
if you can, i would suggest plugging the modem into the nid (box on side of house with all the phone wires) directly and see if it goes to to 3360, if it does, then check internal wiring; if not, then tell verizon they need to fix the wiring on their side.

2944 is an optimized rate, so I would certainly consider getting the full DSL Statistics. On the ActionTecs, you should be able to click on Status > DSL Status at the top of the page to find them.

The upstream as pointed out is a bit off, so a NID test once the full statistics are gotten should be considered so we can compare them with the statistics you get at the NID.

Wait. How long have you been having this issue and what part of the country are you in? I'm in PA and I keep having the same issue with my Westell. They sent me a new modem and it seems to be working tonight. I don't get it though. Been like 2 weeks now, but it was perfectly fine Friday and Saturday then went back to acting up Sunday.
