Upgraded from Rocket Hub to Rocket LTE Hub

I took the $49.99 upgrade to get the LTE Hub. Just hooked it up and like the performance improvement. I'm on the same plan but was told I may get better performance since I'm not sharing traffic with voice on 3G.

I took before and after DSLreports Speed Test profiles

Source / Latency / Down / Up

BEFORE HUB
Parrsipanny / 438ms / 1703/547 Kbps
Denver / 471ms / 1493/691 Kbps

AFTER LTE
Parrsipanny / 97ms / 2707/1005 Kbps
Denver / 94 ms / 2412/922 Kbps

Only issue I have so far is being able to set the DNS servers to OpenDNS from Rogers. They are greyed out. Even when I disconnect from the network, it won't allow me to change. When I have time, will have to find a user guide. Nothing on-line like with the Hub.

Anyway, same plan, better performance for $50.

Those speeds seem really low for LTE. Perhaps you should hookup an external antenna or place the unit somewhere else in your house.

I have not seen an external antenna option.

The location in the house was the one that provided the best signal for the older Rocket Hub. I haven't tried relocating it for LTE.

I also did not opt for a LTE data plan. The benefits are just moving the same data plan from 3G to LTE network.
