Hi all!
I live in Queens NY and have the 30Mb Wideband. A few weeks ago, the coax cable going to my modem/router got damaged by a worker during an reno so I removed the whole cable instead of adding another cable. I figured i could just split the modem off the living room cable box and then I would have one less cable going down my wall. I have a wireless router so that cable didn't seem necessary.
The broken cable that was going to my modem/router was plugged into the empty port in the pic that says -8 db TAP. Now the setup is - one of the bottom ports in the pic goes to another splitter (had from a previous apartment) that says -3.5db on it with one side going to the modem/router and the other side going to the living room cable box. The other bottom one in the pic goes to the cable box in my bedroom.
Unfortunately, now i'm getting 96% packet loss from the modem to the TWC server (TWC tech support did a line test) and only 6Mb DL. I was getting about 30 before. Im not sure if this is because im not using that port that says 8db TAP on it anymore or if it something else. I tried taking out the -3.5 splitter that I used to split the cable box and the modem and just plugging in the modem directly just to see if that made any difference but still got 6Mb down.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thx!
