Spice300 posted : I doubt that the interference is from the blinking lights. If the interference is coincident with the blinking of the Tx light, then the EMI could be caused by the transmitter and coming from any of the components in the system: power supply, power cables, modem, coaxial cable and TRIA.

Is your Exede dish grounded properly? If there are two points where it is grounded, there could be a grounding loop that is generating the EMI. Are there any places on your coaxial cable where the shielding is broken, especially at the F-connectors?
--
Wildblue Value Pack, beam 31, Riverside gateway

Spice300 posted : If there is electromagnetic interference (EMI) radiating from the modem, placing a piece of aluminum foil between the modem and amplifier (you do not have to wrap the modem in metal) might reduce the amplitude sufficiently. The EMI might be coming from the power supply or the power cord between the power supply and modem. Moving the modem and power supply farther away and applying shielding might or might not solve the problem.

I don't know about enclosing it in metal... might react with the magnets on the speaker within.

I know my Guitar Amp sometimes picks up radio stations, which is more funny/cool than a problem :p

anon posted : I'm wondering if there are any others out there with this problem. When I turn on my guitar amp, it produces a clicking sound that seems to be in time with the leds on the modem. The only way to get it to stop is to unplug the modem. When I contacted Wildblue about they said they were aware of a problem like but offered no solutions or help at all. I'm think about enclosing the whole thing in a metal box to see if that helps.
