This also gives me an excuse to get a new shed too.

If you get a shed, you need to buy a generator to put inside.
If you buy a generator to put inside, you need to buy a transfer switch to wire it.
If you buy a transfer switch to wire it, may as well buy a bigger generator.
If you buy a bigger generator, may as well have an underground NG/propane line to the shed installed.
If you get a NG/Propane line installed, may as well get an outlet for a BBQ
If you get an outlet installed for a BBQ, may as well buy a bigger BBQ.
If you buy a bigger BBQ, may as well buy a bigger shed to store it in winter.

Love the thinking of course. I did just buy a 6800 watt generator as well and am waiting for my transfer switch.

May as well build a shed to support running the generator inside.

Sometime next week I'll be posting pictures of final result of my generator shed project.
This one was last year.
»Generator house link project - The progress..

Next week I'll have a concrete slab put in the shed's wall for the generator's exhaust port, then everything will be complete. Since that thread I wired up the transfer switch properly, installed an exhaust fan in the shed. I'm still waiting for a 1" cord grip but that's a small detail and it won't arrive until mid-december (long shipping time).

It will be better in the new thread I'll make as things will be finalized. The only "unfinished" stuff are add-ons like lighting and receptacles in the shed that were made possible since I ran a second raceway to bring in power TO the shed through 30A 3-wire.
