so once downloaded and converted you just burn to cd?

The downloaded videos will be in .flv format. Yes you can just burn them to a data CD (supposing they fit). VLC can play .flv's directly, among other media players.

Some DVD players can play .avi's right from a data disc but not all. If you need to support playback on DVD players in general you need to author the videos to DVD VIDEO_TS format and burn the result to a DVD-R. The tool I use for the is ConvertXToDVD, but there are others. Google "convert avi to dvd" for further guidance.

You can author a video CD (VCD) that many DVD players will play but it's a dead format with very poor fidelity.

Or just buy a DVD burner off newegg or wherever for around $15 to $20.

Freemake video converter. »www.freemake.com/

put the you tube link in the paste url tab.

click the dvd button on bottom.
or save as an mp4 file and make the dvd later.

That's it.

Opera also has an extension to download video.
