Re: need new computer looking for suggestions

I vouch for acer. Their stuff works well for me. And their prices are good.

I would go with an ASUS G series over Alienware. Just as good or better at about 50-75% of the price

Bought a tiger direct barebones for $399. It has AMD FX 6300 six core and a radeon 6750 Hd 1 gig dedicated card with 8 gb corsair ram and a 2TB asus hard drive. Hope that will do the trick. Like I said not the best at computers but each part was near the bottom but on the High Chart from toms benchmarks

Return it. You got ripped off.

It amazes me why people come here for advice then ignore everything and buy something without getting it vetted first.

Where "near the top" does this CPU appear?

Here's the site I used when evaluating graphic cards:

»www.videocardbenchmark.n ··· pus.html

And CPUs:

Edit: Didn't realize you weren't the OP. Apologies!

That site is great for gauging the relative power of GPUs, but it only tests the synthetic rendering potential of the card, not how it performs in-game.

Well considering wife had me on under $400 budget, and Im replacing a radeon HD 3450 card and a pentium dual core processor, it should be much better. I was able to do Heroic Deathwing on the old rig and lowest settings with about 12-20fps, should see improvement now, I think I did ok
