Re: [F@H] Chimp wondering

don't know if this applies to your situation at all, but the last time i had a machine slow down dramatically it was because of a hardware problem .... in particular a problem with the hard drive.

Rxdoxx,

You have a bad work unit 7809 (R10, C129, G3) on your Win XP i7 SMP client ( the box running GPU also ). It was downloaded on 11/8 and is only 11% done on 11/18 in it's last log entry in your 2nd log file posted.

That or your cpu fan isn't spinning.

How long has it been since you have shutdown the fah client, and shutdown and restarted that computer? It is possible that if you try that now that the client will dump the unit for you.

To Dump the lagging WU....

Stop the client or pause the SMP slot.

Click on the Windows Start Icon ( lower left corner ), All Programs, FAH Client, Data Directory. Now you should see a configs directory, a cores directory, a logs directory, a themes directory and a work directory; along with a config.xml file, log.txt, etc.

If so ... then click on the work directory. You should see a 01 directory and either a 00 or 02 directory. The SMP client is working in the 01 directory/folder.

If not ... then post what you do see!

Otherwise, delete the 01 directory/folder.

Now restart or unpause the SMP slot.

6% in that 1hr+ or so is a whole lot better than 11% across 10 or 11 days.

When sorto get's back to full speed, maybe she can check to see if 7809 R10 C129 G3 is truly bad or if it was a hardware glitch.

Fold on!

I don't know that sorto' will ever be up to any sort of speed, but I am HERE! I have set up two people as Super Moderators to help me with the spammers over on the community forum and am hoping for a little relief on that part of my job, yay!

I'm not sure this answers your question, though.

Chimp learned next time his production slips to go in and delete all the folders Not necessary to edit the registry unless that doesn't work
