Thanks for the chart. I doubt I'd notice much difference even if I got a newer router.

I just looked again and see I'm on channel 11. Pretty sure I was on channel 1. I guess that's what the "tech" meant what he said he increased wireless signal strength.

Can they even change router settings like that remotely?

I think I'm still losing the wireless connection.

I'll check and see if the TV stops working (don't think so) or a wired PC stops working next time I lose the connection. Other than that and changing the channel and maybe the security anything else to try before pushing for a new router?

Well if you have an android phone get an app like "Wifi Analyzer" you can see what other signals may be affecting you. Select a channel with little overlap and see if that doesn't improve your signal.
