Clean Shower DoorNot a question but a tip.
While I was renewing my grout in the master shower I was using a single edge razor blade to touch up some areas.
Over the years (I've lived here 25) my ex-wife and I have tried every cleaner know to us to get the shower door crystal clean with little or no success. Strictly down hill and more fogged by years.
So I had this single blade razor in my hand and started on a small area on the shower door glass. Smooth clear on both sides.
Presto clean! So it only took me about 20 minutes to do the entire inside of the door.
It look almost as nice as the day I moved in.
Hope this helps someone. |

Tile Guard. I've only found it at ACE or online. Depending you need to reapply it in areas about once a year. » tile-guard.com/Product-I ··· hite-8ozI've turned a couple of friends on to it and they rave about the product. I would think that there are other products on the market but I never see them. |

Oh I forgot to add, I use a stiff little paint brush to apply it not the sponge applicator.
More like an artists brush. |

Now that you have it clean, get a small squeegee and use that on the glass before getting out of the shower.
Works great! |

Hard water. Minerals deposit and no cleaner can remove them - they must be removed the hard way... mechanically... |

CLR does the trick pretty well, as does VIM. |

Just spray a bit on a paper towel for that area. Dab it, wait and lightly scrub. Rinse well.
Nothing left at all. |

Works great! That's what I do as well. In fact, I squeegee the whole shower and then towel-dry any remaining moisture. Seems like a lot of work after every shower, but it's really not that bad, only takes a couple of minutes. It's totally worth doing as I've NEVER had to clean the shower, and it is still as clean 3 years later as when it was brand new!!! |

Second on using a squeegee. Makes a huge difference keeping the glass doors and shower wall surfaces clean.
A periodic spritz of white vinegar will help keep the mineral deposits in check. Spray it on let it set a while and rinse it off.
OK, so the bathroom smells like macaroni salad for a little while, dealing with that's far better than breathing God knows what chemical fumes commercial tile cleaning products emit. |

I tried taking a few pictures through my clean and fogged glass but it won't focus. |

Tape a photo to the backside of the glass. |

First clean with CLR - the real stuff. Not the CLR bathroom cleaner but the one in the bottle with the side handle. I used to easily find it in a spray bottle but have not come across that one recently so I use my own spray bottle. Once it is shiny clean keep it that way with either the squeegee or Tilex Daily spray. I have a thing for perfectly clean glass shower doors. And since others in my home simply could not grasp the concept of the squeegee I removed the doors when I was alone for the weekend. Now we have a clear vinyl curtain line and a pretty flowered curtain over that. And screw holes in the tile were the doors were attached. |

Occasionally when I get lucky here I have some female company and I want things to look fresh.
I like stuff looking nice too. |
