[TWC] TWC modem DNS error only SOME sites work!

I upgraded from a standard modem to a modem with built in wireless yesterday. Arris TG862. It powers up and i show that i have internet connection. I can access yahoo, google and several other sites. The problem is that there are a lot of sites that are timing out. i never had this problem before. I can't go to msn, microsoft, playstation just to name a few. The problem is not just on 1 computer. it is the same for EVERY computer on my network. I have 1 connected directly to the LAn, 2 wireless laptops and my playstaion3. all have the same problem with the same websites. Does anyone have any idea what the issue is?

I have tried:
resetting moodem to factory settings,
rebooting computers
clearing browser cahes
using 3 different browsers (firefox, IE8, Chrome)
flushdns
talked to Time Warner support
had time warner support remote into my machines (they were completely stumped)

I am having exactly the same issues.

Recently I switch from Verizon DSL to Time Warner's new 30Mb/s service. Normally I use an external DNS and Im now sitting on the phone with Time Warner and to my astonishment, they do block with there new modems!

The good news is, you have to call them to sort it out. Ask them to put your modem into passive direct modem mode.

It fixed all my problems.

Good luck
