Re: Not enough voltage or bad drivers? I haven;t done anything to my motherboard, and when I set my gpu to factory defaults its solid as a rock. I just got done playing the game that was giving me trouble, about an hour latter no issues to be had.
Just a thought, could it be unstable vram and not the gpu speed? Even occt only lets me test 2000MB of vram, this game with all the mods I have will use over 2.25GB vram. Could it be the game is pushing my vram harder than the stress tests since its using more, and finding weaknesses that the tests and my other games that uses less vram can't? I think I may try just leaving the vram at stock and then ocing the gpu core. But not today, got stuff to do, maybe not even this week what with thanksgiving and work and homework and all.
If all else fails I'm gonna try what you suggested with the drivers(maybe even the latest beta drivers) and a clean boot, possibly even a clean install of the game. |
| GDDR5 has built-in error-correction capabilities (although not ECC itself), so usually you see performance start to decline before outright instability when you overclock the memory too far.
Definitely try leaving the memory at stock speeds. It's always a good idea to test each portion of the device individually when overclocking. I start with the GPU or CPU first, then move on to the respective memory for whatever I'm overclocking.
