i was told the former owner of my house did that to a particular religious group known for door to door solicitation, when they are on my street they still skip my house

After performing this ritual umpty thousand times this summer I am happy to say their calls have slowed to one or two a month now. I honestly figured these guys had been busted by the CRTC by now.

Another ploy that may help in the future is when you pick up the phone just say hello once, don't repeat it. It seems to screw up the robo calls which seem to wait for people to talk more than once.

Never make an appointment, and if they admitted they knew you were on the do not call list (and were recording the call), then ask them who you can request a copy of the recording from. I admit I don't even play with them any more, I just hang up.

they won't accept a fake address and make an appointment. He asked my postal code and when I gave him a fake he called me on it. After I screwed up my last name he knew my last name spelling correctly.
Last time I tried sending them across the road and they knew it was wrong. Perhaps they are using 411.ca

Because they can? They seem to be willing to call regardless.

Today I took his number and once he was off called him back with call block on. It was a good number he gave me, at least for today. Then reported to CRTC DNCL complaints

I still get those damned duct cleaning guys calling. When they say "How are you today?" I say "I am going to be really annoyed if you are calling to clean my ducts".

The call centres calling are not in Canada. It is good to report, especially if you have the name of the company they are calling for.
