Note: Lots of Adblock Plus users were complaining about unintentionally landing on web pages that tried to use their mistake by either showing ads to them or even by installing malware. We heard you and thought up a way to fix that.
A few months ago we took over the development of the URL Fixer extension and made some substantial improvements. Now this functionality is ready for prime time and has been added to Adblock Plus 2.2.

This release fixes a critical issue affecting users on outdated Firefox versions (Firefox 9 to Firefox 13). It also fixes the apostrophe encoding in locales, mostly affecting the Italian locale.
•fixed issue affecting loading of filters in old Firefox version (including Firefox 10).
•Fixed wrong apostrophe encoding in translations (especially Italian).

Be aware of that one.
From what I recall "not enabled by default" was not as straight forward as that. Kind of like you did get prompted, once, at some point. It's been a little while now, & I don't recall exactly.
And in any case, I suspect it is a "feature" many would not particularly want.
(IMO it should not have been made a part of ABP at all.) |

I think it is a bad feature. I visit Sourceforge a lot and they have a shorter "sf.net", and ABP thinks I may have meant "se.net". I wonder what other bad recommendations it makes.
