Anveo/Iristel DID Outage (519, 416, More?)

My Anveo DIDs are currently not reachable. I've submitted a trouble ticket with Anveo and am waiting to hear back from them. Anyone else experiencing the same issues?

According to Twitter, Iristel (the CLEC Anveo uses for Canadian DIDs) is completely down. Anyone know any more?

Looks like Iristel is having issues. First time that I remember.

(EDIT: This was posted before I saw the OP's edit.)

I just tested a known Iristel number in BC, and it was working.

Nothing on the Iristel website about today's outage, imagine that.

Hi everyone, indeed there was an outage yesterday, all services went back up at 4:00 PM EST. All Iristel customers have received a detailed RFO, in case you are a direct customer and wish to receive more information or you have not received an email please let us know. Thank you

I have such a DID [as part of my service from Anveo], but had not noticed anything as I did not try to call out [thru] it during that timeframe, nor did anyone contact me thru other channels to say that they could not reach me.

My last inbound CID on it was at 12:30 PM on TURDsday, and the CNAM was complete and accurate.

I currently have registration and a dialtone on it (Anveo).

I do not believe that anyone can call out, have registration, or dialtone on a DID.
Just sayin.

Sounds like lawyer talk to me.
It does not work in the way you report.
DID is not the same as DOD.

Here is the RFO from Iristel:

November 22nd 2012

Event:
The core routing facilities have registered a high volume network IP flood exceeding all the GigaBit interfaces physical limits.
As a result the connectivity handled by the core router has become intermittent.
The VoIP switches have experienced a period of IP based Denial of Service, causing an outage.

Resolution Measures:
Carrier has immediately dispatched an on-site team of network engineers to readjust the equipment configurations in order to restore services and prevent the effects of the IP flood.

Prevention Measures:
Applying a more segregated routing and firewall filtering policy, designed to increase the protection of the core services.

Timeline :
November 22nd 13:30 PM – 16:00 PM EST

We apologize for any inconvenience experienced.

This is the Canadian DDoS attack to which I was referring elsewhere but I had been told some details in confidence until the public disclosure.

Nahhhh, just slang.

So anyway, do you enjoy disrupting the natural flow of things in a thread just for the sake of being right (and you ARE right), as much as it seems that you do ?

All I was saying was that I seemed to have missed/escaped all of the action of this outage.

It is not about disrupting flow.
This is 'VOIP Tech Chat' forum, and this thread is 'Anveo/Iristel DID Outage (519, 416, More?)'.
I was merely attempting to urge correct usage of the technical terms used. Many who visit here are mislead by incorrect usage of the terms used.
Sorry if that offended you.
