SPA-122 how to connect to router having different subnet?

Hi,

I need help connecting an ATA model Linksys SPA-122 to my router that has a static IP and gateway address of 192.168.1.1.

Since the SPA-122 device has an IP of 192.168.15.1 , which has a different subnet 15, how do I connect, set up and configure it in my network for use in VOIP?

Thanks a lot for your help.

The SPA-122 itself is a router. Do you have a need for two routers?

For 2 routers, see »www.phone.com/setup/cisc ··· -spa122/

Hello Kyawa,

Thanks for your reply. I only need one router, the existing one in my network. The reason I chose SPA-122 because it's the only ATA available in my area and it's affordable. So how do I make it work? Note that my cable modem only has one Ethernet port.

Try the setup in the link for 2 routers and see if that works. That setup seems to have more pros than cons.

Otherwise, you can connect the SPA directly to your modem. If you need more ethernet ports or wifi, you can configure your existing router as a switch/access point. What is your current router?
