With his history of health problems, do you really believe the show didn't plan for this long before the pilot was even filmed?

I see Hagman as a true survivor. No matter how many times life threw him a curve ball, he always managed to get back on his feet. It's remarkable he's lasted as long as he had.

He seems to have been a nice guy, very well liked by those he worked with, and married to the same woman since 1954.

Though not a Canadian, he could typify the best traits of one.

Yeah might as well turn Canchat into an OBIT column for Non-Canadians. Yes Im requesting a new sub-category for Canchat so that when I go to Canchat I can read about dead canadians and canadian topics as the main choice and dont get distracted by non-canadians. If one wants to drill down to read about foreign deaths they can fill their booties

Maybe bluebaron can chew on that idea for a while (I will provide the chewing tobacco - from Canada) or maybe he wants to puff away on his pipe, contemplating the pros and cons of this (may I add totally unbiased) brilliant idea...... and what the heck put in some of BCs (a province in Canada) finist into that pipe bowl.

So are you suggesting Canadians did not watch Dallas or I Dream of Genie? I suspect at the height of it's time Dallas got pretty good ratings in Canada... I do remember the episode 'Who Shot JR' being discussed on Canadian media...

AND IF they did, then this topic does in fact belong in Canchat...

Ok let me clear up the confusion, we've ( FB & I ) talked about it and have decided that dead celebrity threads can stay. These people have touched and influenced other people around the world, well beyound the country where they were born. It's part of what makes them celebrities. Just because the person wasn't born in Canada doesn't mean that they have touched Canadians. Dead celebrity threads have always been allowed in here.

For instance I was personally saddened when Etta James passed away. I think even our friend Anav may have been affected as well.

And BTW I gave up smoking....anything, many decades ago.

Oh and one further thing, we will be clamping down on non-Canadian topics, lately there has been a lot of flotsam floating to the surface in the forum. If you feel the need to post a more "general" type topic, then don't be surprised to find it moved to a more "general" type forum.

Yeah I will miss larry apparently he wants his ashes spread over a field sown with wheat and reefer. Then make cake from the crop and every one can have some and get a buzz.

He played such a bad ass on that show
I hope they procede with the series
We watched the original and it was nice to see it come back with the new generation fighting for power and the original / elder characters pulling strings

Yup no disagreement on touching our lives be it Donna Summer or Etta James but cmon, Hector Comancho LOL.

To be consistent none of them belong in Canchat but the mod has spoken, he said let there be posters with low IQs and there was, he said let there be posters who stray from the topic, and there was, and he said let my standards be lowered and they were, and he said, let dead people with no link to Canada but may have touched people in Canada be remembered and they were remembered. So it was spoken and so it shall be. Henceforth I will not complain about such exceptions no matter how distasteful and egregious.

To get in the spirit so to speak, let me quote a non-canadian troupe, Monty Python who stated. BRING OUT YOUR DEAD.
