[Equipment] Linksys SPA-3102 WAN Setup

Hello,

I need help with finalizing SPA-3102 setup. My ATA Linksys SPA-3102 is BEHIND the main router Netgear. Netgear itself is behind a cable modem.

Inside SPA-3102 config page, under Router tab, what should I select for WAN setup?

WAN set up = DHCP

WAN set up= Static (IP)

Thanks a lot for your help.

Set the wan up for a static IP address in the same range that your NetGear router is handing out to your PC, etc. This way you'll know what it is if/when you have to login to it to make any changes. Also, if you haven't already, make sure to turn OFF any thing labeled SIP or ALG or any combination of the 2 in the NetGear.

Hi aguen,

1. WAN Setup > Static IP
2. Router > LAN Setup >Networking services: Bridge mode

Both 1)and 2) don't work.

I have to enable DHCP for VOIP to work.

SPI firewall turned off in router.

Use DMZ and you get a kick in the dick.

Did you try placing the router behind the SPA3102 instead of the other way around?

Hello Mango,

See my reply to decx just now. I did try plugging the ATA directly into thecable modem.

Putting the SPA-3102 before the router would probably solve the problem. However depending on what taytong888 See Profile has for his internet connection it may not be practical as the old SPAs have a very low WAN-LAN connection performance (IIRC ~6Mb or so) that isn't useful for most current broadband connection.
