Do Uverse Gateways Require Frequent Reboots?

Greetings all. I am a long time reader Broadbandreports.com but new to Uverse. I am wondering if the Uverse gateway requires frequent reboots.

About once a week my HD channels begin pausing/stuttering during the evening hours - very annoying! Internet speeds crawl along as well. By process of elimination I have been able to correct the problem by rebooting my Uverse gateway. Is this normal?

I have had Uverse installed for approximately 45 days now. Its a new house, all new wiring.

Please advise.

In my experience they don't. I clear the statistics occasionally to make it easier to monitor but don't reboot.

Show the realtime reports at the time of failure not after a reset. May show the errors then.

Go to the Uverse Forum
Under Gateway there is a discussion going on right now on the same topic.
They believe it is a bug in the firmware.
